Linda took me out to lunch at Palomino downtown,  chicken piccata in butter lemon sauce with green beans, creme brulee for dessert. We also had coffee with half-n-half, so suffered the results later with a quick tummyache. Went to the Taft Museum, if you are ever in downtown Cincinnati, it's small but the permanent collection is worth seeing--IMO.

Got home, B-Day dinner, pretty nice of Mom, since she doesn't have much. Older bro just sat there, didn't say anything, didn't wish me happy birthday, ate plenty. Nice card from Sis and some money in it too. I know she's not rich, so nice of her. Dad sent 50$ & a card. Well that's enough

Dang library kicking me out again!

lunch sounded divine.. mmmmm.. too bad about that tummy ache later on, but I bet it was still worth it.. :)

What sort of things are in the Taft Museum?

I need to daytrip sometime and visit Cincinnati.. maybe one day when I've got some money and my car is all fixed and I trust it not to break down.. Then maybe I could take you to lunch while I am there!!

Glad your mom did something nice for your b-day.. I'd like to kick your older bro in the leg.. what a jerk.. it doesnt cost a thing to say happy birthday.. I'd make him a special little cake for his next birthday.. chocked full of laxitives..lol

Hehehe! Good use of laxatives!

The Taft is a really well kept up mansion near the edge of Downtown Cincy, has old Oriental vases and French landscapes from turn of century on, and conservative painters like (local) Frank Duveneck and Murals by Robert Duncanson, and more well known like Franz Hals, John Singer Sargent, Rembrandt. Some French and Dutch landscapes, German altarpieces, watches, miniatures, etc. And tons of nice Oriental vases, and whatever the special exhibit is, sometimes there are good ones. Very conservative but classy stuff, great mansion, good museum staff, free parking I think. Free on Wednesdays.

Nice gift store and a little cafe, it's just very classy. I used to get my Christmas cards there every year first weeks of January, classy and 50-75% off.
